Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Welcome to TL;DR News (“TL;DR News,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a service operated by Digital World Programs LLC, a limited liability company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at newstldr.io and related services (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
TL;DR News aggregates publicly available news from third-party sources and presents short, AI-generated summaries in a light, informal tone, along with links to the original articles. We are not the original publisher of the underlying news and do not claim ownership of third-party content. Summaries are provided for convenience and entertainment.
2. AI-Generated Summaries
Summaries are produced by automated AI systems and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors. They are not a substitute for reading the original source and do not constitute professional, financial, legal, or investment advice. Always verify important information against the original article.
3. Accounts
To access certain features you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. One account per person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
Some features require a paid subscription (“Subscription”), currently US$8 per month, billed through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring monthly charges until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to subsequent billing periods.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service;
- resell, redistribute, or create derivative products from our summaries;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or overload the Service;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- circumvent the paywall or share account access.
6. Intellectual Property
The TL;DR News name, branding, site design, and our AI-generated summaries are owned by Digital World Programs LLC. Underlying news articles, headlines, and images remain the property of their respective owners and are shown as links to the source. You may share our permalinks and summaries for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution.
7. Third-Party Content & Links
The Service links to third-party websites and content we do not control. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or availability of third-party content, and your use of third-party sites is subject to their own terms.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that summaries are accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital World Programs LLC and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or US$100 if you paid nothing).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Digital World Programs LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
